Voluntary Reporting
To document the efforts and commitment of the legal profession to ensure equal access to justice, the Court asked the Foundation to develop a means by which Ohio lawyers may report voluntarily and anonymously their pro bono activities and financial support for legal aid programs. OLAF and Court staff developed a voluntary, anonymous reporting mechanism which was launched in January 2009.
In early January of each year, an email is sent to all Ohio attorneys registered as "active" who have provided an email address to the Ohio Supreme Court. In the email, attorneys are asked to report pro bono activity during the preceding calendar year by clicking on a link to complete a brief questionnaire.
All information submitted voluntarily is collected without identifiers, so results remain anonymous.
