OLAF's Pro Bono Mission

Volunteer Pro Bono Initiative Brochure

The Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation's pro bono mission is:
  1. to take a statewide leadership role in seeking to increase pro bono participation, and
  2. to be a catalyst and source of support for the development of local pro bono programs.

Volunteer lawyers breathe life into our nation's promise of justice for all. Providing pro bono services to low-income citizens -- to people who would otherwise have no access to our cherished system of justice -- represents the highest ideals of the profession.

According to a 1991 statewide assessment, almost 80 percent of the civil legal problems of Ohio's indigent population receive no professional attention. Volunteer lawyers help to lower that percentage. There are countless ways for attorneys to get involved in pro bono. Click here to find a volunteer opportunity that is right for you.
