Loan Repayment Assistance Program

Consistent with its mission to improve access to justice and ensure that resources, programs and services exist statewide to serve the unmet civil legal needs of low-income Ohioans, the Foundation administers a Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) to support the recruitment and retention of qualifying attorneys by Foundation-funded legal aids.   Under LRAP, qualifying attorneys’ loans are forgiven by the Foundation if the attorney remains employed with a legal aid organization for a designated period of time.

Since, 2007, the Foundation has helped eliminate debt for 49 attorneys totaling:
